1,000,000 AD

Planet-sized computers are dominating the Local Group of galaxies;AI controls all government and other systems; the descendants of humanity are a Type 3 civilisation on the Kardashev scale

Purely biological (non-cyborg) humans are exceedingly rare now. The very few which do remain comprise only a tiny fraction of the total sentient minds in existence. Though free to come and go as they please, they have practically zero influence in any governmental systems on Earth or elsewhere, being regarded as wholly subordinate to the AIs and other entities. As a species, homo sapiens has continued to evolve over time. This has led to a further increase in cranial size, a near-total absence of hair, an elongation of limbs, a more robust and capable immune system, and a greatly increased lifespan.

The vast majority of humans have long since abandoned these primitive biological forms, making the transition to machines or other substrates and achieving practical immortality. The entire Milky Way galaxy has been explored by these transhumans and their sentient ships.

Faster-than-light travel is now possible using Alcubierre drives, which are compact and miniaturised enough to be found in even personal, single-occupancy vessels. These use such colossal amounts of power that they cause the fabric of space ahead of a ship to contract, while the space behind it expands. This bypasses the laws of relativity, allowing travel to even neighbouring galaxies such as M31 (Andromeda) and M33 (Triangulum).

Planet-sized computers are being constructed throughout the Local Group of galaxies, with every available resource going towards their production. All of the "dead" worlds, comets, moons and asteroids considered uninhabitable are being converted into these machines, forming a vast network millions of light years across space. Each computer is capable of instant communications with any other, regardless of distance.

A number of alien intelligences have been contacted by now. In addition, ancient ruins have been uncovered on many worlds - indicating advanced civilisations which somehow failed or destroyed themselves in the distant past. Thousands of other planets have been discovered to have rich ecosystems, brimming with diverse plant and animal (and other) life. Most of the fauna being catalogued is small and insect-like, but some is more developed with intelligence comparable to higher mammals such as dolphins, monkeys and cats.

Most of the biological (non-cyborg) humans are avoiding the core regions in each galaxy, which are filled with extremely high concentrations of gamma radiation, blackholes and other hazards - dangerous even with the technologies and protections of today.

30,000 AD The first wave of sub-light vessels has reached the galactic core

The core region is located 27-28,000 light years from Earth. At its centre lies the largest black hole in the galaxy - a supermassive black hole.* Having travelled for many millennia, the first wave of sub-light spacecraft has now arrived in its vicinity.

These ships contain no physical human crew, being entirely computerised and automated. Numbering in the trillions, they have self-replicated along the way, using local stellar and planetary material gathered en route.Systems encountered during this epic voyage have become seeded with computational substrates and saturated with artificial intelligence - individual planets and moons becoming like brain cells in a gigantic, artificial organism. It is almost as though the galaxy itself is waking up and achieving self-awareness.

There is no competition or battle to claim ownership of the core. Wars, greed and archaic concepts of nationality have long since disappeared, with sentient beings now united under a common heritage.

In addition to the black hole, there are dense concentrations of ancient, metal-rich stars; in places separated by only a few light weeks or light days. These provide an enormous pool of resources for the approaching fleets.

Gamma radiation is so high in this region that almost nothing biological can survive, except for the hardiest of extremophile bacteria. Were an observer able to stand on a planet near the core, the sky above them would appear as a dazzling display of light and colour.

Having reached the galactic centre, efforts are now underway to explore the far side of the galaxy and the mysteries that lie beyond. Dozens of globular clusters have also been reached by now.

3000 AD Purely biological humans are typically 7ft tall now, with lifespans of 120+*

For centuries now, the technological singularity has produced enormous wealth and prosperity throughout the solar system. Across-the-board improvements in healthcare, education and living standards have led to humans evolving into a race of giants - 7ft tall, muscular and highly athletic, with lifespans of 120+. Note that this lifespan refers to purely biological (non-cyborg) humans, who comprise a small minority by now. The vast majority of citizens have opted for genetic engineering and biotechnology upgrades which offer practical immortality.

2700 AD Venus has been terraformed

By now, Venus has been transformed into a habitable, Earthlike world. The planet's entire orbit was shifted, bringing it closer to the "Goldilocks Zone", while its day-night cycle was accelerated from 117 days to 24 hours.
Comets were redirected from the Oort Cloud and Kuiper Belt. These were guided through the solar system and into the upper atmosphere of Venus, releasing vast quantities of water.
Other techniques involved the capture and removal of CO2, achieved by the seeding of nanobots, which absorbed this and other toxic gases and replaced them with breathable oxygen.
With lush tropical oceans, Venus now has two large, dominant landmasses - Aphrodite and Ishtar - along with a number of smaller subcontinents and islands. The average surface temperature has stabilised at around 25°C.

2350 Progress with Mars terraforming

The first lakes and seas are beginning to form on Mars.
In the lowest altitude regions, a variety of plant life has been introduced. The air pressure and temperature is even high enough for certain arthropods and insects to survive.
Open air exploration for humans is still limited to those with cyborg bodies, however.

2300 Superhuman powers are available to common citizenry

The nanotechnology of recent decades has conferred powers to citizens that would be considered superhuman by 21st century standards. These upgraded "transhumans" could perform feats regarded as Godlike to denizens of earlier times.

A suitably upgraded individual - if transported back to the year 2000 - would be impervious to weaponry and nearly impossible to contain. They could morph their body into a seemingly infinite variety of forms depending on the situation encountered.*

If trapped in a maximum security prison, for instance, they could alter their own molecular structure, allowing them to walk through walls.* They could broadcast electromagnetic pulse waves to disable electronic devices, vehicles and other objects. Bullets and other projectiles would pass through them with no effect. Microscopic cameras, distributed throughout their body, would function as an all-round 360° sensor - covering the entire electromagnetic spectrum and making it impossible for an attacker to surprise them.

They could sprint at lightning speed and cross a variety of dangerous terrain types: even molten lava would present no obstacle to them. If necessary, they could levitate from ground level to the roof of a skyscraper in seconds. They could turn themselves invisible, morph into another person entirely, or stretch their limbs like elastic.

In many ways, they would resemble a comic book superhero or video game character.

They could manipulate their environment in various ways, generating enough body heat to light a fire, for example, or turning inanimate objects into advanced nanotechnology tools, or modifying the properties of liquids. They could heal a wounded person just by touching them. They could read thoughts and emotions, or extract recent memories.

If standing near others of their kind, they could link and combine their powers to even greater levels – harnessing the power of local weather, for example, or lifting objects weighing thousands of tons.

Their sensory capabilities would be phenomenal. This 24th century person could view individual atoms with the naked eye; or if they wanted to, use their telescopic vision to see distant astronomical objects. They could hear a whisper from miles away, or filter specific voices from a cacophony of background noise. They could determine a precise chemical composition just by tasting, touching or smelling it.

Due to their various biotechnology aids and physical upgrades, they would never require sleep. They could even survive without food and water - living instead off the energy of their surrounding environment, which would be absorbed into their photosynthetic, piezoelectric skin. This same external layering would keep them at peak levels of physical performance, as well as shielding them from the elements.

In fact, many citizens of today have abandoned their homes altogether and taken to a nomadic lifestyle, for this and other reasons. Often, a "home" of today is little more than a small booth or alcove in the street, where a person can temporarily recharge and recuperate, or utilise the greater powers of the net. Even a person's body is often temporary, as they shift between various real world and digital environments. Much of the Earth is now being transformed into a gigantic computer grid where individuals can physically "plug" themselves in.

Not everyone has opted to make this transition. Even now, there are segments of society which are adamant in maintaining a natural, minimally upgraded human body. These people are now a definite minority, however, given the practical immortality and other benefits offered by transhumanism.

Nokia Smart Watch Concept.

multifunction Smartphone entertainment device that can be worn on ones wrist. The device is pretty minimalistic and it seems to have a touchscreen and a very interesting rotating button with unknown purpose. This is a mere design of the Nokia watch phone, but this thing is pretty massive in size. It is likely that there will be full HD video playback, some nifty games, augmented reality, wireless interaction with headphones and other Nokia cellphones, plus a lot of battery life and a powerful speaker. Also, a ton of sports applications and health features must be included for this to be a viable bracelet and considering its close to your pulse, it’s pretty easy to keep up with your health.

Concept of Time and Light.

This interesting concept that merges two of the most fascinating aspects of light. On one hand you have it as an illuminant, a perfectly capable table lamp. And on the other, you have it as a discreet analog clock with an ambient glow. Triple functionality!

Energy-saving watch that is powered entirely by solar light! The Solar OLED Watch crafted using organic light-emitting diodes i.e., OLEDs, the watch is relatively earth-friendly right from its construction. The next step in its Eco-friendliness is, of course, the fact that it bypasses the regular Li-Ion battery in favor of a solar-powered power-up option that ensures that the watch stays powered up without using any chemical batteries. Touch-enabled watch face only activates when the user touches it and shuts down when not in use. Though the function may appear to be of mot much consequence for an individual user, it does become pretty incredible when one considers the amount of energy saved and light pollution prevented with the function if every human being on the planet wore a watch like this!

Mobile kitchens future

Ever thought that one day you’ll be cooking on a device just like a table cloth inside your house or even outside, in your very own backyard? This ingenious cooking device, was designed by Sara Laczo, a young designer from Hungary. Being a product oriented to Philips’s design language, Sara had to create a feminine, simple and natural shape, but not too futuristic. It’s very interesting that from all the cooking accessories that are present in an everyday kitchen, Sara picked up the table cloth for her inspiration. The simple shape of the table cloth and its ability to be spread on a table,  were the starting points. The Magic Table, as the designer named it, is composed of layers, stacked one on top of the other to create the perfect cooking tool. It has an edge that can light up to interact with the user. When the light is red the magic table is switched on, the light is blue when the product is on, but the cooking surface is not hot and when the light turns orange the product is warm, but the cooking surface is touchable.

Around this lighted edge, the designer has fitted a tangible edge. This has been colored in oxide green to create a contrast and is made from PVC or silicone. Cooking on the table magic is like having a mobile kitchen which you can push in the backyard to cook on a sunny day. The next layers are the Teflon coating and the heaters. The Teflon ensures that the food won’t stick to the surface making it easier to clean. The heaters are made from silicone and are arranged in such a way that can be heated up separately. The operating temperature is up to 260 degrees Celsius, pretty awesome for a 1,5 mm thick heater. The wire grid is built in the insulation, this insulation is a silicon foam and has a grid etched in its surface for the wire grid to fit perfectly.Going further though the layers, we find the Teflon insulation. This is the most important part of the device, as this gives it the ability to be folded or bended. The device has attached on one of the corners an operational panel. This panel can be fitted when the user wants to use the device and remove it after he/she has done cooking. The panel has a touch screen interface so the user can easily adjust the time and temperature.
The always present in a contemporary kitchen, the table cloth, has been redesigned and given a new role. Sara also won the second prize given by Philips Design Department in Amsterdam, Holland with the Table Magic, design that was submitted to the Quick and Healthy Cooking category.

Technologies innovation future 2050

Near Future as in 2010; thankfully the designers are not dating it like 2050 or 2200 for this concept! Anyways we are talking about the Persian Delight: Nokia CLIPit Concept Mobile Phone. Brushed steel and Persian turquoise stone encrusted, this phone proposes a bevy of features like finger print as your SIM, Touch pad-Dot matrix screen, hands free clip on design, and a combo of Philips Lumalive and conceptual “Smart fabrics” to blend out a 12”screen!

Finger print as your SIM.
CLIPit has all the cell phone’s data web based and you can reach not only by CLIPit but from multiple devices like other cell phones, disposable cell phones, your car kit, your home phone and so on. The key is your finger print.
On top of the CLIPit you have a steel touch screen made by a group of small Light Emitting Diodes installed in the steel touch pad. So you have dynamic buttons and can dial, send and receive SMS and navigate your music easily.
You don’t need to hold the phone in your hand or use any other device like Bluetooth hands free. When you have a call, just pull down the clip and CLIPit becomes a hands free.
The ear phones of CLIPit have two sockets. You can hang your CLIPit around your neck with them when listening to the music. Like a beautiful necklace made by turquoise and steel.
The way to connect with other devices for CLIPit is to Clip it to them. You can clip it to so many things to have connection with them. For example back panel of public bus seats.
You can clip the phone to any part of your clothes or your bag. You can hang it around your neck with its earphones. You can wear it like a Bluetooth hands free. And also it is enough small to put it in your pocket.
PHILIPS has developed a new technology called “Lumalive”. They have fabricated some kind of cloth that has internal OLEDs and is quite a color fabric screen. The design team used a developed form of that technology in the CLIPit and has two fabric screens. The 3- inch screen is just a formable, flexible cloth that has a “Lumalive” screen as the upper layer. You can clip your CLIPit to this 3-inch screen and have a mobile phone with a 3-inch color screen. It is quite BIG for a mobile phone. But the 12-inch screen is a combination of “Lumalive” and a concept fabric called “Smart fabrics”. “Smart fabrics” are cloths with a net of sensors between its layers for touch sense. The net is cut able and the fabric can be cut or sewed. In fact smart fabrics are touching sensitive cloths. This fabric is combined with “Lumalive” and to become a multi-touch color screen. Clip your CLIPit to it and you have a folding pocket 12-inch laptop.
The 12inch touch screen is also a medium for CLIPits to share their data with each other. Quite easy. Quite funny.

Innovations in technology for the visually impaired

Technology is improving day by day and many of the innovations are being planned for various segments of people. Many of the innovations are also invented for people with various ailments. Like the new Voice Stick, a text scanning device for the visually impaired. As the name suggests, the stick when scanned in the printed letters, the OCR function recognizes the text and converts the information into voice. The voice is then read back and thus helping the visually challenged. It is a quite innovative and practical product. So whatever be the matter, like letters, E-mails etc, it works out to be a perfect solution and companion for the visually challenged.

Braille is on of the most important ways that visually impaired individuals acquire their information. The problem is that it is hard to find braille books due to the high costs involved to published them compared to common books.
Voice Stick is a portable text scanning device for the visually impaired. When it scans printed letters, the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) function recognizes the texts and converts the written information into a voice. The portable stick, Voice Stick, can be used to convert any words or letters found in our daily life, such as in books, newspapers, contracts, mail, etc., into voice information.
